GALOFER S.A. is a consortium between rice grinders of Uruguay which send their husk for energy generation
and COOPAR S.A. takes part in this important national enterprise, whose main objective is to generte energy
using a renewable source, the rice husk as a base.
This generation project will provoke a positive environmental impact due to the great reduxtion of the green effect gases
at the same time it will eliminate the principal waste of the rice industry (rice husk) that causes some of the enviroment
problems located around the grinders.
In Uruguay it is the first company that generates energy basd on the rice husk. At the same time, it is the second in size in
the world for its 14 Mv generation.
ARROZUR S.A., where COOPAR S.A. takes part as a shareholder, is the only factory which parboiles rice in the country, with an elaboration
capacity of 156.000 tones of rice with husk per year. This company not only has a parbolized rice manufactured plant but also an extraction and refinery oil rice one.
The industrial complex Arrozur S.A. is situated in the province of Treinta y Tres at 283 km on route 8, has recently been opened a renovable fuel plant with a daily production of 4500 litres of biodisel.

COMISACO S.A. It is a society between COOPAR S.A. and SAMAN S.A. that conjuntly administrate the consession of India Muerta dam. This has a volume of useful
reservaired water of 127.500.000 m3 with a capacity of irrigation rice of 10.000 hs anually.
The enbalnement´s volume is of 1.763.000 of clay, obtaining a total of the system is about 40.000 hs. The irrigation service started in 1982 giving to boths companies an unimprovable provision of water for the rice crops up to now.
